Democracy Is All About Criticism MP for Suhum Frank Asiedu Bekoe claimed.

“Democracy is all about allowing people to speak. When people talk or criticise you, threatening them should not be part of Suhum. If the same thing has happened before, I will not countenance it during my time,” he emphasised.

“Threatening people who criticise you will not help Suhum because Suhum is bigger than any political party, whether the NDC or the NPP. We must come together and work in the interest of Suhum. Suhum must win at all times.”

For the record, the Suhum Anglican Park Astroturf is the single biggest project ever undertaken by an MP in Suhum using government funds, he added.

“Football is not only about fans; it has become a global market that has created many jobs. In Suhum, we have so many sporting talents, and this Astroturf will help sharpen their skills and enable them to compete on the international stage. The project is an investment in the youth of Suhum. We are building dreams so that, in the future, we can see young people from Suhum among the Ghana Black Stars.”

“We cannot advise our children to stop engaging in bad habits without creating opportunities and facilities that will keep them occupied and prevent them from engaging in other activities,” he added.

“If you do not like me at all because of this project, at least support it with your prayers. The project is not funded with my own pocket money; it is funded with public funds. After the project is completed, it will be managed by the Assembly. The project is for Suhum, not for any individual, so everyone should keep that in mind.”

He expressed the hope that, following the sod-cutting ceremony, the contractor would complete the project before the Suhum Odwira Festival. He also assured the contractor that funding would not be a problem.

“When you pray, pray for the President, the MCE and me,” he concluded.
